Warehouse LED Lighting

LED lighting retrofits for warehouses and distribution centres, designed around your racking, installed around your shipping schedule, and backed by the company that designs the fixtures and administers the warranty.

Why WarehousesPay Back Fast

Warehouses run long hours under high ceilings, often on metal halide, fluorescent or early LED fixtures that cost a lot to run and to maintain. Every failed fixture over the racking means a lift, a technician and an aisle out of service.

Our upgrades routinely reduce lighting energy consumption by 30 to 70 percent and maintenance costs by up to 95%, depending on what you are replacing. With full financing sized to your savings, the upgrade can be cash-flow positive from the first month in many cases.

Think Green Solutions designs its own fixtures, has them manufactured and sells them direct, so you are not paying for layers of markup, and we administer the warranty ourselves.

Proven inWorking Warehouses

Warehouses are where our fixtures have the longest track record. Across two retrofits, Greentec is positioned to achieve $630,000 in savings over 20 years from a combined investment of $120,000.

  • 50% less energy at Greentec

Greentec's 2012 retrofit in Cambridge, Ontario, under 30 to 40 foot ceilings, reduced energy use by 50 percent and generated 165,000 kWh in annual savings. Across both retrofits, Greentec achieved a 78 percent overall energy reduction.

  • Under 3% failures after 11 years

After 11 years of operation, Greentec's original system had a failure rate of less than 3 percent, and most fixtures remained functional.

  • 2.7 and 2.2-year paybacks at Canadian Tire

At Canadian Tire Georgetown, the 2012 retrofit of the warehouse, automotive department and exterior delivered a 2.7-year payback, and the $80,000 retail-floor retrofit in 2015 paid back in 2.2 years.

  • $48,000 instant rebate for Hauser

Think Green secured a $48,000 instant rebate for Hauser Industries and handled the process from start to finish.

What We Light in a Warehouse

Each area of a warehouse does a different job, so each gets its own fixture choice, layout and light level.

  • High bays over racking

High bay fixtures laid out to your racking plan, so light reaches the faces of the shelves and not just the tops.

  • Aisles and travel routes

Even light down narrow aisles and along forklift routes, with shadows and glare kept to a minimum.

  • Loading docks and shipping

Bright, even lighting where trucks are loaded and unloaded and packages are checked.

  • Picking and packing

Higher light levels where staff read labels, check orders and pack shipments.

  • Bulk storage

Lower light levels and occupancy sensing in areas that are only visited now and then.

  • Offices and break rooms

LED panels and linear fixtures in the offices, washrooms and break rooms inside the building.

Designed forYour Racking and Workflow

Every warehouse retrofit starts with a free facility assessment and a lighting layout built around your racking, ceiling height and how each area is used. For federally regulated workplaces, the Canada Occupational Health and Safety Regulations set minimum light levels by area, such as 150 lux at loading docks and 250 lux where packages are frequently checked or sorted. Our guide to warehouse lighting requirements has the full table.

  • Photometric layout

Where a layout needs it, we run photometrics on the computer before install, so light levels and uniformity are right the first time.

  • Built for your ceiling height

Fixtures are specified for your mounting height and racking, from low bays over mezzanines to high bays in tall distribution centres.

  • Occupancy sensing in quiet aisles

Networked controls dim or switch off lights in aisles and storage areas nobody is using.

  • 99% accurate second count

Before install, our team returns to recheck every fixture, so the order matches your building.

Installed AroundYour Shipping Schedule

We never shut a business down. Installs are planned around your operating hours, shifts and shipping windows.

  • Normal hours or overnight

Crews work during normal hours or overnight, section by section, so receiving and shipping keep moving.

  • One team, start to finish

One team manages the project from assessment and design to installation, rebates and warranty.

  • Warranty administered by us

Our 10-year limited warranty on LED panels, high bays and low bays is administered by Think Green. Our longest-running projects are over 16 years old with a failure rate under 5%.

  • Service after install

Nationwide installation and service teams, with same-day response for service.

Incentives andFull Financing

In Ontario, Think Green is an authorized Save on Energy partner. The Instant Discount comes straight off your quote, with no application for you to file, and networked lighting controls carry their own incentive, paid to you by cheque in approximately 90 days.

Programs outside Ontario vary by province, and incentives are available in almost every US state through local utilities. Where a program needs an application, savings calculations or post-installation measurement and verification, we handle it. Think Green has delivered over $15M in incentives to clients in Canada.

We also offer full financing, so a warehouse upgrade can go ahead without a large upfront cost.
